UAE's Rashed Al Qemzi Targets Historic Fifth Title In UIM F2 World Championship

Rashed Al Qemzi, a Team Abu Dhabi driver, is determined to make history by becoming the first ever five-time winner of the UIM F2 World Championship. He currently shares the record of four F2 world titles with Erik Stark and hopes to surpass the Swede this year. Al Qemzi will test a new boat in San Nazzaro for three days before competing in Sunday's Grand Prix of Italy in Brindisi, which marks the beginning of this year's championship.

Al Qemzi has gained significant experience in F2 over the years, but he believes his time in endurance racing has made the most significant impact on his driving skills. He was part of Abu Dhabi's 2021 World Endurance Championship-winning team and drove for nearly two hours during 12-hour and 24-hour races. This experience helped him contribute to Team Abu Dhabi's 17th world championship title since Guido Cappellini took over as manager in 2015.

Al Qemzi Eyes Fifth UIM F2 Title

Al Qemzi credits Cappellini for his success, stating that the Italian has been instrumental in helping him find solutions when faced with challenges. This year, Al Qemzi will once again be paired with Mansoor Al Mansoori, who finished fifth in last year's championship and secured a podium finish in 2022.

Although Al Qemzi admits feeling pressure at times, he remains focused on winning the first race of the season to secure a strong position. He has followed this strategy each year he has claimed the title. With his sights set on becoming a five-time world champion, Al Qemzi is eager to make his mark on powerboat racing history.
