Young UAE Athletes Shine At Gymnastika Solo Cup With 11 Gold Medals
The inaugural international championship in Dubai marked a significant milestone following the establishment of the UAE Gymnastics Federation. This event, backed by the Dubai Sports Council, gathered elite athletes from over 30 nations. The sports industry in Dubai contributes approximately $2.5 billion annually to the economy, highlighting its importance.
The Gymnastika Solo Cup, a premier gymnastics tournament, took place at the Al Nasr Sports Complex from October 22–27. It featured over 790 international athletes, including Olympic medalists and world champions like Liubou Charkashyna and Eva Brezalieva. This was the first major championship since the UAE Gymnastics Federation's formation with support from the Sports for All Federation.

Young gymnasts from UAE clubs achieved remarkable success with 40 podium finishes, including 11 gold medals. Notably, the youngest local winner was just four years old, indicating a promising future for gymnastics in the region. The event's success underscores a commitment to nurturing young talent.
The Dubai Sports Council and Sports for All Federation played crucial roles in supporting this event. Their representatives attended key ceremonies, reflecting a national dedication to advancing youth and women's sports. Women's sports revenues are expected to grow significantly over the next three to five years.
"In Dubai, rhythmic gymnastics grew from one club to roughly 60 in five years. Now, hosting world-class tournaments like this, the focus is on building confidence and character in the next generation of female athletes. We want to support their talent and encourage friendships across borders," said Anastasiya Zakreuskaya, Founder & CEO of Gymnastika UAE, FIG-certified coach and judge.
Zayina – the Soul of the Desert and Keeper of Dreams – served as the tournament's symbol. It honoured the UAE's transformative vision and reminded participants that dreams can flourish even in challenging environments like deserts.
Hessa Al Kous from Dubai Sports Council expressed pride in establishing the UAE Gymnastics Federation: "The establishment of the UAE Gymnastics Federation is a proud moment for us. It aligns perfectly with the national vision to empower youth, champion women in sport, and offer world-class hospitality to athletes and fans from around the globe. This tournament showcased our commitment to fostering inclusive, community-focused sporting excellence."
