Paris Paralympics Launches Campaign To Bolster Ticket Sales With 100 Days To Go

With the Paralympic Games in Paris swiftly approaching, a unique campaign has been launched to captivate the attention of potential spectators. The message is clear and poignant: "I am not missing anything, except you." This campaign, starting 100 days before the Paralympics, aims to encourage ticket sales for the event scheduled from August 28 until September 8.

Highlighted in this campaign are three French Paralympic athletes, each portrayed alone in an empty stadium, embodying the theme "Il ne me manque rien, sauf vous" (I'm not missing anything, except you). These athletes include Arnaud Assoumani, a gold medallist in long jump and triple jump from the 2008 Beijing Games; Pauline Déroulède, a competitor in wheelchair tennis; and Gaël Rivière, a blind soccer player who has previously clinched a European championship and plays for Bondy Cécifoot Club. This choice of athletes not only showcases their individual achievements but also underscores the diverse sports represented at the Paralympics.

The national broadcaster, France Télévisions, plays a crucial role in this campaign, aiming to increase awareness and, consequently, ticket sales. Despite the impressive lineup and the anticipation building up, only 900,000 of the 2.8 million tickets have been sold so far. Ticket prices are made accessible, starting at 15 euros ($16) for various events including track and field sessions at Stade de France, wheelchair tennis at Roland Garros, and blind soccer near the iconic Eiffel Tower. The pricing strategy is inclusive, with finals tickets priced from 25 euros ($27) and closing ceremony tickets at 45 euros ($49), making the Paralympic Games accessible to a broad audience.

Marketing Efforts and Athlete Participation

The marketing strategy to boost ticket sales includes the strategic placement of 651 posters throughout Paris, along with 972 in the subway and an additional 2,520 on the sides of buses. This extensive effort aims to not only raise awareness but also foster a sense of community and support for the 4,400 athletes participating in the Paralympics.

The Paralympics in Paris represent a significant event, not just for the athletes competing but for the global community, emphasizing inclusivity, resilience, and the spirit of competition. The campaign’s message serves as a powerful reminder of the role spectators play in elevating the event’s atmosphere and inspiring athletes to achieve their best. As the city of Paris prepares to host these games, the organizers, athletes, and supporters alike look forward to experiencing an event filled with remarkable performances and unforgettable moments.
