Competing in the Boys GI, Teen, Green, 84kg category at the prestigious Abu Dhabi World Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championship, his dedication to the sport is evident. "I have been an athlete since 2017. His participation in the championship, part of the larger Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship held at Mubadala Arena, marks a significant milestone in his athletic journey.
Ribeiro's path to success has not been without its difficulties. He faced a significant hurdle in 2018 when anxiety barred him from competing, questioning his future in the sport. However, Ribeiro emerged stronger with the support of his family. "My parents never gave up on me, and after nearly a year, I returned to the mats and started competing in local championships," he recounted. His story is a testament to the transformative power of jiu-jitsu, emphasizing the sport's ability to build resilience, discipline, and personal growth.

The role of Ribeiro's family cannot be overstated in his journey. They provided unwavering support, funding his participation in competitions and standing by him through every challenge. "They funded my participation in every competition I wanted. Gradually, I understood that with their support, I could follow my path without fear. My family was with me every step of the way," Ribeiro revealed. This familial support was crucial in helping him regain his confidence and return to competing at a higher level.
Despite facing health issues that interrupted his training earlier this year, Ribeiro's determination remained unshaken. "I faced health problems shortly before boarding and didn't train for weeks, but I came anyway because this competition means a lot to my career," he disclosed. His perseverance underscores the importance of discipline and resilience, qualities that jiu-jitsu instills in its practitioners. "Jiu-jitsu embodies noble values such as discipline, respect, confidence, and the ability to handle failure. These values greatly contributed to my journey." Ribeiro concluded.
