Run, Sweat, And Celebrate: The Garmin Fitness Festival Is Coming To Dubai
Garmin, renowned for its sports wearable technology, has teamed up with Amit Retail to introduce the Garmin Fitness Festival in Dubai. Set to take place at Meydan Racecourse on November 30, this annual event is designed to unite the community through a celebration of health and fitness. The festival will include a variety of run races for different ages and genders, a vibrant entertainment village, and awards for the participants, marking a significant addition to the UAE's fitness calendar.
The event will not only spotlight adult and children's races ranging from 100m to 10km but will also honor UAE National Day with special initiatives. Aiming to foster a culture of fitness in the UAE and the broader GCC, this festival is the first in a line-up of Garmin-inspired activities. Abdulaziz Abdulla, Group Managing Director of Amit International Group and Garmin UAE's brand representative, expressed enthusiasm for the festival, saying, "Garmin is such an iconic fitness brand, we wanted to establish an event that enables the people of UAE and eventually GCC to come together and celebrate their fitness."

Races for adults will cover distances from 1 mile to 10km, including a special 3km morning race and a 5km night race for those who wish to run in costume. The youth races will cater to those under 18, with distances from 100m to 5km, and will include relay options for both school children and adults. Manvinder Singh Chadha, General Manager at Amit Retail LLC and Garmin UAE, highlighted Garmin's impact on fitness awareness, stating, "The development of Garmin products has enabled people to be fitter and more aware than ever before, and this day will allow more and more people to learn about how fitness can improve your overall lifestyle."
A Race Village will form the hub of the day's activities, open to all and filled with various attractions. The village will showcase the Garmin Zone, where attendees can try out products and participate in challenges, including a special obstacle course by the new Arabian Warrior team. It will also feature activations from top Dubai gyms, fitness challenges by influential regional fitness personalities, a Spinney's Family Picnic area, and a McGettigan's party zone with evening entertainment. Attendees can explore food and beverage options and receive fitness, wellness, and nutrition advice from leading brands.
Tim Spurling, General Manager Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and India, Fitness Outdoor and Marine, emphasized Dubai's growing significance in the global sports arena. He remarked, "Dubai (and the Middle East) is such an important player now in sports. To add an epic community day that is owned and driven by Garmin is a very positive step for us, and we can't wait to hear about the success."
