Dubai Esports And Games Festival 2024 Announces Exciting Schedule Of Events

Gaming enthusiasts in the United Arab Emirates are in for a treat as the Dubai Esports & Games Festival (DEF 2024) returns for its third edition. Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the festival will take place from 19th April to 5th May and promises to be the biggest celebration of gaming and esports yet.

DEF 2024 will offer a wide range of gaming experiences and activities for families, fans, and gamers alike. Visitors can look forward to thrilling tournaments, meet-ups with gaming legends, and industry insights from experts. The festival aims to bring together gaming enthusiasts from all walks of life and provide them with a unique and unforgettable experience.

Dubai Games Festival 2024 Schedule

One of the highlights of DEF 2024 is the GameExpo, which will take place from 3rd to 5th May at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in non-stop gaming action, play the latest games with friends, and watch live tournaments. The event will also feature a showcase of gaming pop culture at The Narrows, where Middle East artists will present their latest works and connect with fans.

The festival will also include the all-new Family Zone, where families can bond over gaming match-ups, and the Electric Avenue, which will showcase the latest gaming gear. The Gaming District will unveil cutting-edge game releases and previews. In addition, there will be a diverse schedule of activations including cosplay, esports tournaments, coding workshops, and Minecraft family challenges to keep fans entertained throughout the three-day extravaganza.

Tickets for GameExpo are now available with a 25 percent early bird discount. One-day passes start from Dh21.75, while weekend tickets start from Dh44.25. Families can book a day ticket from Dh89.25 or a three-day pass from Dh224.24. VIP tickets are also available for an enhanced one-day experience.The GameExpo Summit, powered by Pocket Gamer Connects, will take place on 1st and 2nd May. This ticketed event will gather industry professionals and brands from around the world for insightful talks, panels, and seminars. Activities such as the Publisher Speedmatch, Investor Connector, and the Big Indie Pitch will connect industry professionals with each other.Cosplayers will have the opportunity to showcase their costumes and performances at the Dubai Cosplay Championship on 3rd and 4th May. The championship will feature three categories: Kids, Craft, and Performance. Winners will have the chance to win amazing prizes.On 4th and 5th May, gaming enthusiasts can watch their favorite gamers go head-to-head in the ultimate gaming showdown at Play Beyond. VIP ticket holders will also have the opportunity to meet their gaming heroes in meet and greet sessions.

Throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, gamers can participate in the GameCentric Ramadan League and compete for prizes worth up to Dh20,000. The league will involve over 6,000 gamers in exciting online tournaments, with live finals to be held at the end.Gamers can also take part in the UAE PC Cafe Master Cup 2024, supported by DEF and Riot Games. Eight cafes across the city will host exciting tournaments with a total prize pool of Dh15,000. Qualified teams will then compete in a thrilling final clash to be named Dubai's best PC cafe.

DEF 2024 is not just about gaming but also about educational engagement. Students can participate in the Microsoft MakeCode Competition and the Minecraft Education Challenge to finetune their digital skills. Talks by industry experts in schools and universities will provide students with insights about the industry. In-school tournaments will offer students the opportunity to play popular games such as Rocket League and Fortnite.

The DEF Education Programme is offered free to all registered schools and universities. Students and staff can also dress up as their favorite gaming characters at school on DEF Gamers Day.
