AED 3 Million Prize Money Announced For Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship In November 2025

The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship is set to offer AED3 million in prize money for its 17th edition. Scheduled from 12th to 22nd November 2025 at Mubadala Arena, the event will be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

The championship has grown significantly since its inception in 2009, when it hosted around 500 athletes from 50 countries. Last year's event saw over 8,000 participants from all continents. This year, more than 10,000 athletes are expected to compete, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's status as the jiu-jitsu capital of the world.

AED 3 Million Prize for Jiu-Jitsu Championship

The championship promises an extensive jiu-jitsu experience over 11 days. It begins with amateur competitions on 12th November. The kids' categories follow from 13th to 15th November, alongside Para-Jiu-Jitsu matches on the 13th. Youth competitions are scheduled for 16th and 17th November, with Masters on the 18th and 19th. The professional competitions will conclude the event from 20th to 22nd November.

Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Chairman of the Championship Organising Committee, stated, "Announcing AED3 million in prize money for the 17th edition demonstrates our commitment to strengthening the championship’s status as a global platform while giving athletes an added motivation to deliver top-level performances worthy of the event."

The Organising Committee is working diligently with partners like Abu Dhabi Police and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to ensure a successful event. Their focus includes athlete arrivals, infrastructure readiness, and comprehensive support from volunteer, medical, and security teams.

Efforts are being intensified to accommodate this year's record number of participants. The aim is to deliver a championship that reflects Abu Dhabi's reputation as a global sporting hub while generating positive impacts both locally and internationally.

Al Dhaheri also mentioned their preparation for an extraordinary edition meeting high organisational standards due to leadership support. He said they expect over 10,000 athletes in an unprecedented event uniting cultures through sport values.
