British Grand Prix: Norris Eager For Verstappen Challenge After Austria Clash

Lando Norris has moved past his incident with Max Verstappen at the Austrian Grand Prix and is now looking forward to their next encounter at the British Grand Prix. Norris had to retire from the race at the Red Bull Ring after a late collision with Verstappen, which allowed George Russell to take the win. Verstappen finished fifth, extending his lead in the driver's championship to 81 points over Norris, who is in second place.

Despite being visibly upset after the race, Norris is eager to get back on track and challenge Verstappen again. "It's clear how he races. It's tough, it's on the limit. It's what we love, it's what I love," Norris said. "I thoroughly enjoyed the whole fight I had with him. Of course it was a shame things ended the way they did. But apart from that, things are clear from what you see on TV and I'm excited to go racing again this weekend."

Norris vs Verstappen: Silverstone Showdown

With all eyes on this new rivalry in F1, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has chosen to stay out of it. Hamilton, who has had many battles with Verstappen over the years, is focused on securing his first win since December 2021 for Mercedes. "Nothing really. I didn't think anything," Hamilton said about the situation between Norris and Verstappen. "I was more concerned about my race and enjoying the team's win."

George Russell - Mercedes

After securing his second F1 victory at the Austrian Grand Prix, George Russell aims for another win on home soil. The Brit has had an impressive season so far, finishing in the top five in each of the last four races. Russell has also outperformed his teammate Hamilton in 11 of the last 13 qualifying sessions and nine of the last 12 races.

Oscar Piastri - McLaren

While much attention has been on Norris recently, Oscar Piastri's performances have been noteworthy too. Piastri finished second behind Russell in Austria and has been on the podium in two of the last four races. The Australian driver sits sixth in the championship standings, just ahead of Russell and close behind Red Bull's Sergio Perez.

If Hamilton wins at Silverstone, he will set a record for most wins at a single Grand Prix (nine), surpassing his own record in Hungary and Michael Schumacher's record in France.

"Again, I don't think I need to," Hamilton said when asked if he had any advice for Norris about racing Verstappen. "They have raced each other for many years. It's nothing to do with me."

The British Grand Prix promises exciting battles as drivers like Russell aim for another victory while Piastri seeks his first win at Silverstone since Mark Webber's triumph in 2012.

The constructors' standings show Red Bull leading with 355 points, followed by Ferrari with 291 points and McLaren with 268 points.

Norris remains optimistic despite recent setbacks and looks forward to competing fiercely against Verstappen once more.
