Nora Al Jassasi is set to make history as the first Emirati woman to participate in the FIA Middle East Baja Cup 2026. The competition will start with its opening round in Hail, Saudi Arabia, in January, and will be followed by the Aqaba round in Jordan in February.
After finishing third in the SSV T4 category and securing the 21st position overall at the Dubai International Baja 2025, Al Jassasi's participation in the upcoming event was confirmed. She was the sole Emirati woman in the race, marking her third appearance in the event, according to WAM reports.
Al Jassasi successfully navigated the 400-kilometre course, which included fast dunes, open tracks, and challenging sand dunes, without facing mechanical issues or rollovers. This demonstrated her technical skill and consistency throughout the rally.
She mentioned that her participation in the current year's events is a part of her preparation for the next season's regional championships. These will include rallies in countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, and the UAE.
Al Jassasi's determination and skills highlight her readiness for the challenges ahead. Competing in such demanding events requires not only technical prowess but also strategic planning and resilience.
The FIA Middle East Baja Cup is a prestigious event, and Al Jassasi's involvement marks a significant achievement for Emirati women in motorsports. Her journey is inspiring for many aspiring rally drivers, especially women in the region.
