Formula 1 Signs 10-Year Deal With BeIN Sports To Broadcast Race In ME And Turkiye

Formula 1 has inked a landmark 10-year agreement with beIN Sports, securing exclusive broadcasting rights across the Middle East and North Africa, including Turkiye, until 2033. This expansive deal encompasses 25 territories, ensuring that fans across these regions have comprehensive access to every thrilling moment of F1 racing. The agreement includes live coverage of all practice sessions, F1 Sprint events, and Grands Prix, accessible through beIN Sports channels and the streaming app TOD.

The Middle East has been a central stage for Formula 1 events over the past 15 years, frequently hosting the season-opening race. The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit is a highlight, marking the culmination of the season with championship-defining races. The upcoming Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, scheduled from December 5 to 8, 2024, is notably the 24th and final race of the longest season in Formula 1's history, promising an unforgettable weekend of racing action.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, highlighted the growth of a passionate fanbase in the Middle East since the Bahrain race in 2004. Domenicali praised beIN's commitment to elevating the broadcast experience through best-in-class programming, aligning with Formula 1's mission to bring the spectacle to fans worldwide.

Ian Holmes, Director of Media Rights and Content Creation at Formula 1, emphasised the soaring demand and growing fanbase for Formula 1 in the Middle East and Turkiye. With four races in the region and a record attendance at the 2023 Abu Dhabi GP, Holmes reiterated the significance of the partnership with beIN, a broadcaster renowned for its sports coverage. He expressed excitement about leveraging beIN's production capabilities in Doha to augment F1's broadcast programming and engage regional fans with tailor-made content.

The agreement comes at a time when fan interest in Formula 1 in the Middle East region and Turkiye is at an all-time high, partly fueled by the record-setting attendance of over 170,000 fans at the 2023 Abu Dhabi GP weekend. As the 2024 season kicks off, fans are eagerly anticipating the drama and excitement of every race weekend. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, marking the end of Lewis Hamilton's era with Mercedes, is set to be a historic event both on and off the track this December.

This partnership not only promises to deliver an unparalleled viewing experience for Formula 1 enthusiasts in the MENA region but also solidifies the region's position as a pivotal hub for Formula 1 racing. As the world gears up for another thrilling season, the collaboration between Formula 1 and beIN Sports is set to bring the adrenaline-pumping action of the world's premiere motorsport to fans like never before.
