Ben Sulayem "Committed To Transformation Of FIA Into Modern, Accessible, And Connected Organisation"

The annual FIA Region I Spring Meeting, hosted by Mobilité Club Maroc, is set to begin in Marrakech on Tuesday, with FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem leading high-level discussions. The three-day event will gather mobility and motorsport leaders from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. They will delve into critical topics like road safety, sustainable mobility, regional sporting growth, and transport innovation.

During the meeting, attendees will focus on equipping Member Clubs with the latest strategies and insights. These sessions aim to address evolving trends in mobility and sports. Discussions will revolve around service delivery, sustainable responsibility, and consumer-focused innovation, enhancing knowledge sharing and best practices.

Ben Sulayem Aims for FIA Transformation

Ben Sulayem expressed pride in the achievements made under his leadership, highlighting the FIA’s commitment to linking sport and mobility. "Our Members are fundamental to the success of the FIA, and I am incredibly proud of the progress we have made together during my first term in office and the successes we have achieved. We continue to strengthen the link between sport and mobility, expanding our reach and impact on the global stage," he remarked.

The FIA’s governance and operations heavily rely on its Member Club structure. Each full Member Club has voting rights in the FIA’s elections and regulatory decisions. These Clubs are categorized into Mobility Clubs, focused on road safety and sustainable mobility, and National Sporting Authorities (ASNs), which oversee and develop national motorsport activities.

"As a global federation it is not often that we are able to unite our community in one place, so moments like this are particularly special. The next few days will provide an invaluable opportunity for engagement and participation, along with key votes to decide on the leadership of our community," Ben Sulayem stated ahead of the conference.

With a mission to double motorsport participation, Ben Sulayem is dedicated to initiatives that make motorsport more accessible, such as the Affordable Cross Car and the Global Karting Plan. These efforts aim to empower regions across the FIA's mobility capabilities, demonstrating a commitment to expanding the federation's influence globally.

The FIA comprises four Mobility Regions and six sport zones, with Region I representing 101 Mobility Member Clubs from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. These clubs collectively represent over 41 million members, reflecting the vast scope and influence of the FIA in promoting safer, more sustainable, and exciting motorsport and mobility options across its regions.
