Vidya Balan Reflects On Akshay Kumar's Absence During Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Production

Vidya Balan reprised her role as Manjulika in the third instalment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, joining Kartik Aaryan. The original film starred her alongside Akshay Kumar. Recently, Vidya discussed her experience on the set and shared thoughts about Akshay with Filmibeat.

When asked if she missed Akshay during the filming of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Vidya explained, "I think it was a completely different team. So, no I didn't miss Akshay as such because it wasn't like it was the same team together. But generally, I enjoy working with Akshay. The three films that we have done together have been massive hits. So, I always look forward to working with him again; he is great fun."

On being complimented for her comedic chemistry with Akshay, Vidya responded, "Right, we do! He is just crazy. Even on shoot constant masti." Their collaboration has been successful in multiple films.

Akshay and Vidya have shared the screen in three films: Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Heyy Baby, and Mission Mangal. Each of these movies performed exceptionally well at the box office.

The latest film in the franchise has achieved remarkable success at the box office. It has surpassed Rs. 200 crore in earnings, marking it as a super hit.

Reflecting on this achievement, Vidya expressed her excitement to Filmibeat: "This is my biggest first week, and inshallah the biggest hit so far. So, it is very exciting. Who had thought? When I did Bhool Bhulaiyaa 17 years ago, it did stupendously well and 17 years later, I couldn't have imagined to repirse my role, and that it would be such a huge success. I knew there was excitement because since the announcement wherever I went, people would be like 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 kab release ho rahi hai. OG Manjulika, hum wapis aapko iss role mein dekhenge, bada maza aayega'. I was like wow, there is genuinely massive excitement for this film. So, I am thrilled and over the moon."
