Support for Students with Down Syndrome

"Education plays a vital role in breaking stereotypes and promoting inclusivity. By educating ourselves and others about Down syndrome, we empower individuals and contribute to a more inclusive society," he stated.

The organisation emphasises creating inclusive environments by improving accessibility and removing social barriers. Implementing policies that ensure equal opportunities in employment, education, and social participation for People of Determination is crucial. These efforts aim to provide a supportive framework for individuals with Down syndrome to thrive in various aspects of life.

Kholoud Abdulrahim Al Mohammed, Director of Care and Rehabilitation Centres at the Organisation, pointed out that World Down Syndrome Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the unique abilities of those with Down syndrome. The organisation aims to empower these individuals by boosting their self-confidence and involving them in community activities.

Early intervention programmes are vital for developing essential skills in communication, self-care, social interaction, and academic learning. Services such as speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, special education, and supportive services play a critical role in this development process.

The organisation's commitment extends beyond care centres to actively promote understanding within the broader community. By educating people about Down syndrome, they aim to dismantle stereotypes and build a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to participate fully.

Through these comprehensive efforts, Zayed Higher Organisation continues to support individuals with Down syndrome in achieving their full potential while fostering an environment of acceptance and inclusion across Abu Dhabi.
