University Of Greater Manchester Academic Centre Opens New Campus In Ras Al Khaimah
The University of Greater Manchester Academic Centre Ras Al Khaimah has officially opened its new campus in Sheikh Khalifa City, marking a further milestone for British higher education in the Northern Emirates. It is the first international university in Ras Al Khaimah and now the first in the region to operate from its own dedicated campus.
The opening ceremony took place at the new campus on Al Mawadah Street and began with a ribbon-cutting. Guests included Dr. Sudhir Kartha, Chairman of the Knowledgucate Group; Mr Andrew Clark, Deputy Consul General of the British Embassy in Dubai; Dr. Steven Reissig, Executive Director of the RAK Department of Knowledge, or RAKDOK; and Mr. Ian Hunt, Chief Customer Experience Officer at RAKEZ.

The launch also featured live broadcast addresses from the university’s UK-based executive leadership, including Acting Vice-Chancellor Dr. Greg Walker and Mr. Yusuf Giga. Dr. Sudhir Kartha said the campus marked “a proud and historic milestone” in expanding access to world-class higher education in the Northern Emirates and announced phase II development by next academic year, 2027.

The new campus has purpose-built academic facilities for interactive lectures, practical workshops, research activities and personalised student engagement.
It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in business, accountancy, law, psychology, engineering, artificial intelligence, data analytics, cloud & network security and construction management, with capacity for up to 1,750 students in the first phase.
The campus also provides industry-focused education, career guidance, internships, annual career fairs and employer engagement.
The expansion supports Ras Al Khaimah’s development as a destination for internationally recognised higher education and gives students access to British qualifications locally, while aligning with the emirate’s wider workforce and economic growth goals.
