Tahnoon Bin Zayed Scholarship Empowers Future Leaders In AI At MBZUAI

The Tahnoon bin Zayed Scholarship in AI Excellence has been introduced to support exceptional undergraduates at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI). This initiative aligns with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's vision to establish the nation as a leader in artificial intelligence and advanced technology. The programme, guided by H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will start in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Unlike typical AI courses, MBZUAI’s Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence combines technical skills with leadership and entrepreneurship. Students also study humanities, business, and liberal arts to develop critical perspectives for responsible AI advancement. This innovative programme is open to both national and international students, aiming to attract the brightest minds globally.

The scholarship aims to empower future leaders in AI by supporting around 350 students over six years. Selection will be based on mathematical skills, leadership qualities, and entrepreneurial spirit. Besides financial aid, recipients will have opportunities to represent the UAE at prestigious youth events worldwide and access resources for entrepreneurial ventures.

His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated, "Artificial intelligence is reshaping every aspect of human progress — from science and education to the economy and society — and the future will belong to those who learn fast, adapt with courage, and harness these technologies responsibly in service of humanity, enhancing productivity and efficiency."

Students will gain practical experience through industry placements, internships, and mentorships with top technology organisations. MBZUAI offers a state-of-the-art learning environment with high-performance computational infrastructure, smart classrooms, incubation spaces, and renowned faculty experienced in academia and industry.
