73.67% Of UAE National Employees Express Job Satisfaction
In a significant stride towards enhancing the integration of UAE Nationals into the workforce, a recent survey has unveiled a high level of job satisfaction among UAE National employees, with 73.67% expressing contentment in their current roles. The survey, which prioritised work-life balance (62.8%), job security (59%), and career development opportunities (58.4%) as top factors for job satisfaction, sheds light on the evolving employment landscape in the UAE.
Furthermore, the survey revealed that 52.30% of employers have a preference for hiring UAE Nationals on a permanent basis, while 31.8% are open to a mixed approach of permanent and contractual hiring. This indicates a positive trend towards the Emiratisation efforts within the private sector, which saw a notable increase in 2022 with a 70% rise in UAE National employees and a 96% surge in companies employing UAE Nationals.

The focus on Emiratisation extends to various roles within the industry, with Customer Service (42.40%) and Sales & Marketing (42.05%) being highlighted as key areas. Operations roles also received attention, with 33.57% of employers seeking UAE Nationals for these positions. This emphasis on diverse job roles is part of the broader initiative to integrate talented UAE nationals into the workforce, as outlined in the second edition of ‘Making Emiratisation a Success Guide for 2024’ by TASC and MoHRE.
The collaboration between TASC and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has been pivotal in driving these efforts forward. The guidebook launched by Ahmad Yousuf Al Nasser, Assistant Undersecretary of National Human Resources Development at MoHRE, provides comprehensive insights into labour laws, regulations, government initiatives, and current hiring trends, making it an invaluable resource for both employers and UAE National job seekers.
Addressing the joint engagement's success, Al Nasser highlighted the multifaceted approach to professional advancements for UAE nationals through initiatives like Nafis, the Apprenticeship Programme, the National Healthcare Programme, and the Teaching Specialists Programme. These programmes are designed to support healthcare education, specialised training in critical industries, and provide resources essential for success.
The guidebook’s findings are based on a survey with over 5,500 responses across various industries, offering a vivid insight into the job market for UAE Nationals in 2024. It highlights both opportunities and challenges faced by professionals as well as organisations in the private sector.
Mahesh Shahdadpuri, Founder and CEO of TASC Outsourcing, emphasised that the guidebook goes beyond merely integrating Emiratis into the workforce; it aims to pave the way for successful Emiratisation by understanding that an impressive 72.47% of candidates surveyed are willing to join both public or private sectors. Additionally, 78% of employers surveyed are prepared to welcome up to 10 UAE National professionals.
The guidebook also updates readers on Emiratisation policies, benefits, violations, and penalties for non-compliance. With detailed insights into government initiatives like NAFIS programmes, it engages with employment dynamics for UAE national job seekers, setting a foundation for sustainable growth and prosperity within the UAE.
