Saudi Students Can Now Opt For Summer Research Opportunities In Canada
Saudi Arabian students now have a golden opportunity to expand their research horizons across the Atlantic. Dr. Fawzi bin Abdul Ghani Bukhari, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in the US and Acting Cultural Attaché in Canada, has recently unveiled an initiative that promises to bridge the gap between Saudi academic talent and North American research excellence. Through the Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA), Saudi students from local universities are invited to engage in summer research projects, under the guidance of professors at Canadian universities.
The Mitacs GRA program is designed to offer Saudi students a platform to work on various research projects that could be hosted by Canadian companies or institutions. This initiative not only aims to enhance the research output of Saudi students but also fosters international academic collaboration.
Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Bukhari highlighted the importance of this opportunity, expressing pride in Saudi Arabia's active participation in international academic platforms. Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering academic excellence is further illustrated by its participation in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. Dr. Bukhari proudly mentioned that 35 exceptional Saudi students, both male and female, represented the kingdom in this prestigious event. Their involvement underscores the kingdom's dedication to nurturing its young talents and providing them with avenues to achieve global recognition.
Dr. Bukhari also expressed his aspirations for these talented individuals. He hopes that their participation in such international platforms, coupled with their outstanding achievements, will pave their way into the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program. This would enable them to pursue further education at top universities in the US and Canada, thus enriching their academic and professional journeys.
