Rabdan Academy Advances Security And Innovation In Abu Dhabi With Pioneering Research Publications
Rabdan Academy, in partnership with key collaborators, has released three significant research studies in top international journals. These publications aim to bolster security, safety, and financial integrity, aligning with Abu Dhabi's strategic goals and the UAE's national priorities. The studies were developed alongside the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, ADGM Academy Research Centre, Seneca Polytechnic in Canada, and the Middle East and North Africa Financial Compliance Group.
The first study, "Safety and Security in Abu Dhabi: The Impact of Policing on Public Perceptions," appears in the International Journal of Law, Crime and Justice. Authored by Dr. Jacqueline Sebire and Dr. Gareth Stubbs from Rabdan Academy with Major Mohamed Saif Al Hanaee from Abu Dhabi Police, it examines how police strategies affect public trust and perceptions of safety in Abu Dhabi. Recommendations are provided to improve police performance and community engagement.

The second study is titled "Assessing the Utility of a Virtual Reality Arson Crime Scene Investigation Simulation." Published in Policing Oxford, it was co-authored by Dr. Eric Halford and Paige Keningale from Rabdan Academy, Dr. Alshaima Taleb Hussain from Abu Dhabi Police, and Dr. Camie Condon from Seneca Polytechnic. This research investigates virtual reality technology's effectiveness in criminal investigations, showcasing recent advancements in crime scene analysis.
The third study focuses on financial crime prevention through a data-driven approach. Titled "A Risk Scoring Model for Managing Money Laundering Transactions," it was published by the ADGM Academy Research Centre. Authors include Dr. Eric Halford from Rabdan Academy, Dr. Ian Gibson, Mark Newfield, Mufazzal Dhanwala from the Middle East and North Africa Financial Compliance Group, along with Peter Ware and Rauda Al Dhaheri from ADGM Academy Research Centre.
This study aims to develop a model that assesses money laundering risks effectively. It supports regulatory efforts to enhance financial integrity by providing practical solutions for managing such transactions.
