MAHE Dubai To Launch BA (Honours) Liberal Arts Programme To Meet Future Job Market Needs
In response to the shifting dynamics of the global job market and the increasing importance of interdisciplinary education, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Dubai is set to introduce a pioneering BA (Honours) Liberal Arts programme.
This initiative is part of the institution's effort to align with Dubai's ambition to become a top-tier international education destination. Scheduled to commence in September 2025, the program is housed within the Manipal Institute of Liberal Arts (MILA).

The curriculum of this groundbreaking BA (Honours) Liberal Arts program is meticulously designed to cater to the evolving needs of the workforce, as highlighted by the World Economic Forum's 2025 Future of Jobs report.
This report indicates that by 2030, 39% of the skills prevalent today will be replaced, with analytical thinking becoming a necessity for 70% of jobs. The programme's structure is versatile, offering students a major-minor combination that promotes independent thought, critical analysis, and creativity across various disciplines.
Beginning with a foundational year in liberal arts, students can later choose among three paths: the Explorer option, the Innovator pathway, or the Consolidator track, offering a mix of one or two majors and minors in subjects like sociology, English, mass communication, and more, alongside coursework in digital literacy and public policy.
This reflects Dubai's growing prominence as a global education hub, attracting a diverse international student body, which now constitutes 35% of the total enrollment. The city aims to boost this figure to 50% by 2033, underlining the strategic importance of programmes like the BA (Honours) Liberal Arts in addressing both education and employment market trends.
The programme's four-year Honours structure is designed to foster expertise across multiple disciplines while ensuring depth in specialization, augmented by an optional internship offering real-world experience. The curriculum is aligned with the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025, highlighting the importance of analytical thinking, technological literacy, and creative problem-solving among other skills.
These competencies are essential for careers in various fields including media, policy research, corporate communication, and more, showcasing the programme's role in equipping students for a dynamic job landscape.
Moreover, the recent licensing of the MAHE Dubai Campus by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with ongoing accreditation efforts, underscores the institution's dedication to quality education. This comes at a crucial time when the emphasis on interdisciplinary learning is at its peak, marking a significant shift towards a more integrated and holistic educational approach.
MAHE Dubai's BA (Honours) Liberal Arts program, with its emphasis on strong faculty mentorship, academic freedom, and a curriculum that is both globally oriented and future-focused, sets a new standard for liberal arts education in the Middle East.
This initiative not only responds to the immediate needs of the employment market but also prepares students for the unforeseen challenges of tomorrow, firmly establishing MAHE Dubai as a frontrunner in the field of higher education.
