King Faisal University Earns 'Innovation District' Recognition From International Association Of Science Parks

King Faisal University in Al-Ahsa has recently been recognised on an international platform, joining the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) under the "Innovation Districts" category.

This membership places the university among the pioneering Saudi institutions to achieve such a status, showcasing its dedication to fostering innovation and research. The IASP, encompassing over 350 members from 80 countries, offers memberships in various categories such as 'Business Incubator', 'Science Parks', and 'Areas of Innovation', highlighting a global commitment to advancing scientific and technological development.

King Faisal University Named Innovation District

The university's president, Prof. Adel bin Mohammed Abu Zanada, highlighted the significant support and encouragement Saudi universities receive from the nation's education, research, and innovation ecosystem.

This backing has notably enhanced their stature both regionally and internationally. Prof. Abu Zanada emphasised that the university's latest accomplishment stems from collaborative efforts with the Research, Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA), aiming to align with the Saudi Vision 2030's goal of elevating the Kingdom's global standing in innovation.

Furthermore, King Faisal University's strides in research and innovation have been remarkable, including securing the top position globally for patents granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2024. Additionally, the university has witnessed a 350% increase in its research output over the last five years.
