UAE: Khalifa University Reserves 7th Spot Globally In Petroleum Engineering For 2025
Khalifa University of Science and Technology has achieved top rankings in the UAE for 10 subjects according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025. Notably, its Petroleum Engineering program has climbed to the 7th position globally, maintaining a spot in the top 10 for three years. This achievement highlights the university's commitment to academic excellence and research leadership.
The university's Engineering and Technology ranking improved significantly, moving from 129th to 107th this year. Electrical and Electronic Engineering also saw progress, reaching the 102nd rank. These advancements reflect Khalifa University's dedication to enhancing its engineering programs and solidifying its global reputation in these fields.

Several subjects at Khalifa University experienced notable improvements. Mathematics advanced to the 127th position from within the top 250 range. Physics and Astronomy moved into the top 300 from last year's top 400, while Biological Sciences entered the top 500. These gains demonstrate the university's expanding expertise across diverse scientific disciplines.
Khalifa University maintained its standing among the global top 200 for two consecutive years in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Civil and Structural Engineering. This consistency underscores its strong performance in these areas. Additionally, it is the only UAE institution ranked in Materials Science, placing it within the top 250 range.
Chemistry and Environmental Sciences continued their presence in the top 300 rankings. Medicine also retained its ranking for three years running. For the first time, Khalifa University ranked in Arts and Humanities, showcasing its commitment to broadening academic excellence across various disciplines.
This year's rankings evaluated over 5,200 institutions worldwide, further establishing Khalifa University's status as a leading centre for research and academic achievement on a global scale.
