Gulf Air Partners With BAS For Enhanced Aircraft Maintenance Training

Bahrain's national carrier, Gulf Air, has recently entered into a strategic partnership with the BAS Aircraft Engineering Training Centre (BAETC), a move set to significantly enhance the training landscape for aspiring aircraft engineers in the region. This collaboration is designed to provide BAETC students with crucial maintenance training, a key step towards obtaining the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 66 licence.

BAETC stands out as an internationally acclaimed institution in the field of aircraft engineering maintenance training. Notably, it is the second institution outside the European Union and the first in both the Middle East and Asia to secure Europe Aviation Safety Agency Approval for its training centre. This enables BAETC to offer a broad spectrum of EASA-approved courses alongside specialized programs, further cemented by recognition from the Education and Training Quality Authority.

Gulf Air & BAS Training Deal

Under this agreement, Gulf Air commits to providing BAETC students with essential maintenance experience across various batches. This hands-on expertise will be garnered through participation in maintenance activities within Gulf Air's Technical Division, covering Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, and Workshop Maintenance. These activities are integral for students to complete their EASA Part 66 Modules.

The primary aim of this partnership is to elevate the competency and skill sets of Bahraini talents, focusing on nurturing future aircraft engineers to meet the demands of the rapidly expanding global aircraft engineering and maintenance industry. An orientation visit to the Center marked the commencement of this project, which is expected to span the next two years.

Hana Abdulwahed, Chief Human Capital Officer at BAS, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating, "We are pleased to be joining forces with Gulf Air to extend our expertise to their employees through internationally accredited and reputable training courses from BAETC." He highlighted the importance of this agreement in continuing BAETC's mission to develop aviation specialists equipped with leading-edge skills.

Mazin Saleh, Chief Technical Officer at Gulf Air, also shared his positive outlook on this partnership. "Our partnership agreement with BAETC will serve to strengthen our well-established business ties with BAS, as we continue to invest in the training of future Bahraini aviation engineering and maintenance professionals," he remarked. This collaboration not only reinforces the strong business relationship between Gulf Air and BAS but also underscores their commitment to investing in the future of Bahraini aviation professionals.

This strategic partnership between Gulf Air and BAETC represents a significant step forward in enhancing the quality and accessibility of aircraft engineering maintenance training in Bahrain. By combining resources and expertise, both entities aim to empower a new generation of skilled professionals ready to contribute effectively to the aviation industry.
