Flynas Sets To Recruit 100 Co-pilots In Latest 'Future Pilots' Programme Phase
Saudi Arabia's latest contribution to the aviation sector, flynas, has made a significant announcement regarding its 'Future Pilots' programme. The airline is embarking on a new round of exams aimed at recruiting 100 co-pilots, leveraging a programme that has already seen about 300 co-pilots graduate. This initiative marks a pivotal achievement in the Middle East, as flynas becomes the first in the region to fully localise the co-pilot position.
The criteria for applicants are stringent yet clear. Candidates are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language alongside a minimum of 240 total flight hours, partitioned into 215 hours for Single Engine and 25 hours for Multi Engine. Furthermore, aspirants must possess a GACA or ICAO equivalent Multi-Engine Land CPL/IR pilot certificate and hold a valid GACA first-class medical certificate. This rigorous selection process underscores flynas's commitment to excellence and safety in its operations.
flynas's initiative is not just about filling positions; it's a strategic move aimed at bolstering the number of local graduates in the aviation sector in the forthcoming years. The announcement comes on the heels of the airline achieving a remarkable milestone - 100% Saudisation in the recruitment of co-pilots. The airline is now shifting its focus towards increasing the localization rate of the Captain Pilot position for the fiscal year 2024.
Since its inception in 2007, flynas has been steadfast in its commitment to nurturing Saudi talent. The Future Pilots programme is a testament to this dedication, designed to mould the next generation of Saudi pilots. The programme is a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical study, and actual flight training, culminating in the opportunity for Saudi graduates to join flynas as co-pilots.
This initiative is a strategic step for flynas, underscoring the airline's reliance on the ambition and capabilities of Saudi youth to sustain and grow its operations. By investing in local talent, flynas is not only contributing to the development of the aviation industry in Saudi Arabia but also empowering its youth with valuable skills and employment opportunities.
