Ravi Udyawar Explains His Choice Of Malavika Mohanan For Yudhra's Female Lead Role

Director Ravi Udyawar has revealed his reasons for casting Malavika Mohanan in the upcoming action thriller, Yudhra. The film, featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan, is scheduled for release on September 20. Udyawar chose Mohanan for her established reputation in South Indian cinema and her ability to engage both audiences and critics.

Yudhra, directed by Ravi Udyawar and written by Farhan Akhtar and Sridhar Raghavan, promises a thrilling experience. Siddhant Chaturvedi stars as Yudhra, a character driven by revenge. Udyawar explained why Malavika was ideal for the role. He said, "Malavika works hard. And I knew who this character I had in mind for her was. The character is a very strong woman, written by us." He stressed that her character is not only beautiful but also strong-minded, knowing exactly what she wants.

The director further described how Malavika's character evolves throughout the film. "In an action film, you often believe that the female will be a soft girl. And she is that soft, beautiful girl. But she is at the same time very strong minded," he stated. Her journey from a young girl to a confident woman showcases emotional maturity.

Ravi Udyawar highlighted the challenge of combining maturity with glamour in Malavika's character. He noted, "You know, it's really very difficult to bring two elements like maturity and glamour together. And she does that really well. She has that personality." This duality adds complexity to her role in Yudhra.
