WAVES Bazaar Launches As A Global E-Marketplace For Indian Creators And Innovators
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has unveiled several initiatives to boost India's creative economy globally. These efforts are part of the upcoming World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES), which aims to highlight India's creative potential on an international platform.
Among these initiatives is the 'Create in India Challenge', which is part of the WAVES Summit. This challenge invites participants to engage in competitions across various fields, including gaming, animation, and visual effects, to propel the nation's creator economy forward.

Another significant announcement is the WAVES Bazaar, a global e-marketplace designed to link Indian content creators with international markets. This platform allows filmmakers, game developers, and other creators to pitch ideas, showcase projects, and collaborate across industries such as film, TV, music, animation, gaming, and comics.
Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, stated that "This platform will simplify global business interactions, helping creators secure funding, brand collaborations, and distribution opportunities." The WAVES Bazaar encourages students and professionals to submit their projects for potential collaboration with investors and industry mentors.
The ministry has also introduced the WAVES Awards. Nominations for these awards will open on February 15, 2025. Categories include Game of the Year, Film of the Year, and Advertising Campaign of the Year. Special awards will also be given for lifetime achievements and contributions to social impact.
This initiative by the Prime Minister's Office is a crucial event for startups. It provides a unique opportunity for creators to connect with collaborators and industry leaders. The WAVES Bazaar serves as an essential platform for those looking to expand their reach globally.
