Vijay Varma Discusses His Growth From Background To Spotlight In Posters
Vijay Varma recently received the Best Supporting Actor award for his portrayal of Inspector Karan in 'Jaane Jaan'. His career has seen a significant shift towards leading roles, as evidenced by his increasing prominence on film posters. His upcoming project, 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack', features him as the lead, underscoring his rising status in Bollywood.
In a recent podcast, Vijay discussed his journey with film posters. He shared, "Poster's journey started when I did a film named Monsoon Shootout. I was the lead in that film. Some of my work did not come out and the film got delayed but when the film was released, the poster was completely changed...from there my poster journey started."

Reflecting on the challenges he faced with minimal exposure on posters, Vijay humorously remarked, "After that in 'Rangrez' I was in a half cut in a poster, In 'she', they showed only the backside, in some it was very small... in 'Darlings' it was tuta-futa (says jokingly)."
Vijay Varma's career trajectory showcases a series of gradual changes. "Sometimes, I used to be on posters, and sometimes, I was not on the poster... This has been my journey with the poster. Now I am here," he concluded, highlighting his progress in achieving greater recognition within the industry.
As Vijay continues to ascend in Bollywood, his role in 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack' further illustrates his transition from supporting roles to leading ones. In this web series, he plays a pilot involved in the 1999 Indian Airlines IC 814 hijacking incident. The series will premiere on Netflix on August 29.
