'The Family Star' Hindi OTT Release: Vijay Deverakonda & Mrunal Thakur's Drama Debuts

The Family Star Hindi OTT Release Date, Platform, & Time: Vijay Deverakonda's latest family drama and romantic entertainer titled 'The Family Star,' featuring Mrunal Thakur as the female lead, premiered globally on April 5. This marks the second collaboration between the 'Geetha Govindham' actor-director duo. The film received a mixed response upon release.

Mrunal Thakur, a highly sought-after actress in Tollywood, stars opposite Vijay Deverakonda in this film directed by Parasuram Petla. The onscreen chemistry between the two was convincing, though their characters were part of an otherwise routine storyline. Unfortunately, the movie did not perform well at the box office.

The film's Hindi digital streaming rights were acquired by Jio Cinema for a substantial deal. The movie is set to premiere in Hindi on Jio Cinema on June 28. This announcement was made official with a poster release.

The story revolves around a middle-class family dealing with financial challenges, love, and affection. Govardhan, the main breadwinner, is strict but undergoes a transformation when it comes to protecting his family and fighting for his love.

Parasuram Petla wrote and directed the film. It was produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC) under Dil Raju and Sirish. Vasu Varma co-wrote the script. Gopi Sundar composed the soundtrack and background score. K U Mohanan handled cinematography while Marthan K. Venkatesh took charge of editing.

Despite its star-studded cast and crew, 'The Family Star' struggled to make an impact at the box office. However, its upcoming release on Jio Cinema might offer it a new lease of life among Hindi-speaking audiences.
