Vidhu Vinod Chopra's '12th Fail' Celebrated With Special Screening At Supreme Court

A special screening of Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film "12th Fail" was organised for Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and other judges at the Supreme Court. The event, held on a Wednesday, saw attendance from the Chief Justice, judges, and over 600 Supreme Court officials and their families.

The screening was followed by an engaging discussion between Justice Chandrachud, Chopra, and the film's lead actors Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar. Also present were IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, whose life inspired the movie, and his wife IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi. During this interaction, Chandrachud expressed his belief that such films motivate individuals to strive for excellence daily.

'12th Fail' Screened for Supreme Court Judges

Justice Chandrachud highlighted how "12th Fail" encourages viewers to contribute positively to society. He praised the film for its storytelling and performances. Released in October 2023, the movie is based on Anurag Pathak's bestselling novel. The Chief Justice commended Chopra for effectively bringing a real-life story to the screen.

Chandrachud lauded Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar for their exceptional portrayal of their characters. He mentioned moments in the film that moved him emotionally. "This film conveys such a strong message of hope," he stated, expressing gratitude to the "12th Fail" team for spending time with them.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra shared his delight in screening the movie for the Chief Justice. He described it as one of his most memorable evenings, sitting beside someone who grasped every nuance of his work. "He made me feel that spending 5 years of my life on this film was worth it," Chopra said.

Chopra expressed gratitude towards all judges and Supreme Court members who attended. He cherished the evening as magical due to their presence and understanding of his cinematic vision.
