Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video: A Closer Look At Its Alleged Inspiration From Sex Tape
The upcoming film "Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video" is set to hit theatres on October 11, 2024. The plot revolves around a couple who record their honeymoon, only for the CD to be stolen. Set in 1997, the film has generated significant anticipation. Rumours suggest it might be inspired by the Hollywood movie "Sex Tape." Let's explore the similarities between these two films.
The storyline of "Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video" follows Vicky and Vidya, a couple who decide to film their honeymoon night, influenced by foreign trends. The plot thickens when their CD and player are stolen. The trailer hints at Rajkumar Rao's character possibly committing murder in pursuit of the CD. Eventually, Vidya receives a blackmail call demanding 2 lakh rupees for its return.

In contrast, "Sex Tape," a Hollywood film, features a couple trying to rekindle their romance after having two children by making a sex tape. Their video accidentally leaks, leading to blackmail from their son's friend.
Despite apparent similarities, director Raaj Shaandilyaa clarified that his film is distinct from "Sex Tape." He stated, "Someone asked me on Twitter, 'Is this film like Sex Tape?' I'm like, 'There's no sex in our film'." He elaborated that while "Sex Tape" involves a viral internet video, his film's plot centres on a lost CD due to negligence. Shaandilyaa emphasised that he hasn't seen "Sex Tape" and drew inspiration from real life and people around him.
