Vicky Kaushal's 'Bad Newz' Poised To Hit 30 Cr In Opening Weekend
Bad Newz Box Office Collection Prediction Day 3: Vicky Kaushal quite literally made us go 'Tauba Tauba' with his green-flag performance in 'Bad Newz'. Directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions, the comedy-drama also stars Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk in the lead. Amid much anticipation, the movie hit cinemas on 19th July and opened to mostly positive response from fans and critics alike. 'Bad Newz' is going strong at the box office, giving tough competition to Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira', Prabhas-Deepika Padukone's 'Kalki 2898 AD' and Kamal Haasan starrer 'Indian 2'.
The latest Dharma film, which also features Neha Dhupia, Sheeba Chaddha among others in pivotal roles, revolves around the concept of heteropaternal superfecundation (a reproductive process in which twin babies are born to the same mother, but from different biological fathers). Ananya Pandya and Neha Sharma have made special appearances in the film.

'Bad Newz' marks Vicky Kaushal's highest opener of his career, beating 'Uri: The Surgical Strike'. As posted by Dharma Productions, the comedy-drama kickstarted on a solid note and earned Rs 8.62 cr on the opening day itself. Interestingly, Uri had opened to a box office collection of Rs 8.20 cr.
As per the latest Sacnilk report, Bad Newz saw a good hike on Saturday and minted around Rs 10 cr (early estimates) on day 2. The total estimated collection now stands at Rs 18.62 crores in two days.
Vicky, Triptii and Ammy starrer 'Bad Newz' is having a clash-tastic run at the box office. According to the latest report published by Sacnilk, the dramedy has already collected Rs 25 lakhs today (day 3) till now. Given the current buzz, the film is expected to see a solid hike on Sunday (today). Going by the trend, Vicky-s film might hit the Rs 30 crore mark on the opening weekend itself.
The movie has been well-received by both fans and critics since its release on July 19th. Competing against other major releases like Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira', Prabhas-Deepika Padukone's 'Kalki 2898 AD', and Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2', it continues to perform strongly at theatres.
The strong performance of 'Bad Newz' at the box office indicates that it could maintain its momentum in coming weeks. With positive word-of-mouth and favourable reviews, it is likely to attract more viewers.
The impressive opening weekend collections suggest that Vicky Kaushal's star power combined with an engaging storyline has resonated well with audiences. This success could pave the way for more such collaborations between talented actors and renowned production houses like Dharma Productions.
