Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 8: Rajinikanth's Film Earns Rs 3 Crores In Hindi Market
Rajinikanth's latest film, Vettaiyan, has emerged as one of the year's major releases. Directed by T.J Gnanavel, it features Rajinikanth as a police officer battling Rana Daggubati's antagonist character. This action drama also marks Amitabh Bachchan's debut in Tamil cinema, where he plays a police officer too.
Vettaiyan is notable for reuniting Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth after more than 30 years; they last appeared together in the 1991 film Hum as step-brothers. The movie also stars Fahadh Faasil, Rithika Singh, Abhirami, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Rao Ramesh, and Ramesh Thilak. It has received positive reviews from audiences and maintained a steady performance at the box office during its first week.

In its first week, Vettaiyan collected Rs 118.95 crores across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi markets. Specifically in the Hindi market, it earned Rs 3 crores during this period. On day 8 (second Thursday), the film added Rs 20 lakhs to its Hindi collection, bringing the total to Rs 3.2 crores.
Vettaiyan has been compared to Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT). However, on day 8, Vettaiyan earned Rs 20 lakhs, which is significantly less than GOAT's Rs 60 lakhs on its eighth day.
Upcoming OTT Release
Reports suggest that Vettaiyan will soon be available for digital streaming. It is expected to premiere on Prime Video in November. However, an official announcement regarding the OTT release is still awaited from the filmmakers.
The film continues to attract attention due to its star-studded cast and engaging storyline. As it progresses through its theatrical run, fans eagerly anticipate its digital release for wider accessibility.
