Veteran Marathi Actor Vijay Kadam Dies After Long Cancer Battle
Vijay Kadam Passes Away: Veteran Marathi theatre and film actor Vijay Kadam passed away on Saturday, according to family sources. Kadam, aged 66, had been battling cancer for the past one and a half years.
Kadam began his career as a child actor in theatre and gained recognition for his comedic roles during the 1980s. He idolised actors Sharad Talwalkar and Raja Gosavi, which influenced his diverse performances on stage, television serials, and films over the next two decades. Some of his notable plays included "Rathchakra", "Vichcha Majhi Puri Kara", "Tur Tur", and "Sahi Re Sahi".

In addition to his theatre work, Kadam appeared in several Marathi films such as "Irsal Karti", "Vasudev Balwant Phadke", and "Halad Rusli Kunku Hasla". His talent also extended to Bollywood with roles in movies like "Ghar Ek Mandir" and "Aflatoon".
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid tribute to Kadam on X, highlighting his natural acting style, comic timing, and ability for extempore repartee. Shinde stated, "Marathi theatre has suffered a great loss due to the death of this versatile actor who enriched Maharashtra's entertainment world."
