Vedaa's Opening Day Collection Beats Khel Khel Mein Despite Stree 2 Clash

Vedaa Box Office Collection Prediction Day 1: John Abraham returns to the big screen with 'Vedaa' after more than a year. Last seen in 'Pathaan', he portrays Major Abhimanyu Kanwar, a man with a tragic past. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, this action-drama is inspired by true events. Released today (August 15), it faces competition from 'Stree 2' and 'Khel Khel Mein'.

Despite the excitement surrounding 'Stree 2', John's film has generated decent anticipation. According to producer and film business expert Girish Johar, Vedaa is expected to collect over Rs 6-7 crore on its opening day. He said, "The trailer is very good. But largely because of Stree 2 being the first option, it will now remain dependent on the word of mouth. The good part about this long weekend is that the one film may gallop ahead in terms of day 1 and day 2. But when you have a long holiday, your good word of mouth is good, then eventually you stable out. That's the chance. I think it should be around Rs 6-7 crores plus at least to start with."

John Abraham leads the cast of Vedaa, which also includes Sharvari from 'Munjya', Abhishek Banerjee, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Kumud Mishra among others. Tamannaah Bhatia plays an important role in the film.

The story revolves around a young woman (Sharvari) who fights back against adversity with the help of a man (John) she sees as her saviour.

In the midst of 'Stree 2's immense popularity, both Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein are struggling to keep up. However, John's film has managed to outperform Akshay's movie on its opening day. Girish Johar mentioned that Khel Khel Mein might have a slow start with collections within Rs 5-6 crore range. Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 is expected to earn around Rs 30 crore on its first day.
