Varun Dhawan Initially Skeptical About Sharing SOTY Screen With Sidharth Malhotra

Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra are among the new generation of actors who gained fame after being launched by Karan Johar in "Student of The Year" alongside Alia Bhatt. These three have since earned significant accolades in Bollywood for their acting skills and dedication. However, it might surprise fans to learn that Varun was initially hesitant about sharing screen space with Sidharth Malhotra. Here's what transpired!

In Arbaaz Khan's show, "The Invincible Series by Arbaaz Khan," Varun's father, veteran director David Dhawan, revealed that his son was upset about sharing screen space with Sidharth Malhotra in "Student of The Year." David Dhawan explained that he had no idea Varun would enter films, saying, "He was studying abroad; he came back. We never talked about films. All of a sudden he approached Karan Johar and assisted him for My Name is Khan. The cinematographer, Ravi K Chandran, noticed him mouthing dialogues and told Karan, you must watch this boy. One day, Karan comes home and tells me he wants to launch him."

Varun Dhawan's SOTY Screen Sharing Hesitation

David Dhawan continued discussing "Student of The Year" and how he motivated Varun. He shared, "They did a photo shoot for him and Sidharth in Goa. They looked so young, so youthful. Some days, he used to be very upset...these things happen in a two-hero film. I said, son, you're damn good, your confidence is something else. Just remember one thing, kandhe pe pair rakh aur kud ja (step on the shoulder and jump). That is your success. Darna nahi hain (Don't be afraid)."

Varun Dhawan was last seen in "Bhediya" and made a cameo appearance in "Munjya." His upcoming projects include "Baby John," "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari," and "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai."

The journey of these actors from their debut to becoming established names in Bollywood showcases their hard work and talent.
