Varun Dhawan Discusses Allu Arjun's Arrest: Emphasises Shared Responsibility For Safety Protocols

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan expressed that actors cannot be held responsible for safety measures during events. This statement came after Telugu star Allu Arjun was arrested following a tragic incident at a promotional event for his film. A woman died, and her son was injured when a crowd gathered to see Arjun at Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad on December 4.

Dhawan, speaking at his movie "Baby John" promotion, stated, "Safety protocols are not something that an actor can take on himself. We can tell people around us." He praised Cinepolis for their arrangements at his event and conveyed condolences for the incident, emphasising that blaming one individual is unfair.

Varun Dhawan on Allu Arjun's Arrest and Safety

The police have filed charges against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The charges were based on a complaint from the deceased woman's family. Following his arrest, Arjun was taken to Chikkadpally police station amid tight security.

On December 11, Arjun sought relief from the Telangana High Court to dismiss the FIR against him related to the woman's death. After being formally arrested, he underwent medical tests at Gandhi Hospital. A senior police official mentioned that Arjun would be presented in a local court soon.

The tragic event has sparked discussions about safety responsibilities at public gatherings. While Dhawan extended sympathy to the affected family, he highlighted the importance of collective responsibility rather than singling out individuals in such incidents.
