Vardhaan Puri On Mahesh Bhatt's Unique Approach In 'Bloody Ishq'

Vardhaan Puri and Avika Gor's film, Bloody Ishq, is now available on Disney+ Hotstar. Directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Mahesh Bhatt, the movie reunites the team behind the Raaz franchise. In a recent interview with Filmibeat, Vardhaan Puri shared his experience of working with Mahesh Bhatt. He expressed his gratitude, saying, "We as an artist are so blessed that Bhatt Sahab used to visit us on set and be next to us while we are performing. Bhatt Sahab has a unique way of studying the human mind; the way he understands human psyche, I think even a psychiatrist or psychologist won't understand it because he has seen so much in life. He has been through failed relationships, his stint with alcohol, his stint with cinema, his relationships with his children and audiences, everything is just amazing."

Puri also recounted a specific instance where Mahesh Bhatt's direction had a profound impact on his performance. He said, "When he gives you instructions in your ears, and explains you that a particular scene is written in a certain way, but the subtext is different. I was doing a scene, and he told me 'how are you looking in the front?'. I said I am just looking in the front with my eyes like I do. He said, 'no for this scene, I need you to look backward not in the front because you have to constantly imagine that there's a hand behind you trying to touch your spine. Imagine my hand on your spine for the rest of the scene'. Constantly through the scene I was just imagining his touch on my spine, so I don't even know what I did and once it was done he hugged me," the actor added.

Vardhaan Puri is known for being the grandson of legendary actor Amrish Puri. He began his acting career with Yeh Saali Aashiqui and later appeared in films such as Aseq and Dashmi.

The collaboration between Vikram Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt aimed to recreate their past success but fell short this time. Despite their efforts, Bloody Ishq did not resonate well with viewers or critics.
