Vantara's Public Art Installation In Mumbai Raises Awareness On Environmental Challenges Through Wildlife Sculptures

Vantara, under the leadership of Anant Bhai Ambani, is drawing attention to the environmental challenges posed by modern living. From October 4 to 6, 2024, striking wildlife sculptures will be displayed at Mumbai's Carter Road, Shivaji Park, and Juhu Beach. These artworks, made from wire mesh and locally sourced materials, highlight the damage human actions cause to animal habitats.

Each sculpture in this initiative narrates a tale of wildlife struggles due to human encroachment and waste. At Shivaji Park, an Asiatic Black Bear caught in a plastic container depicts the harsh realities of our throwaway culture. Another piece shows Flamingos ensnared in plastic waste, illustrating pollution's impact on bird ecosystems. Meanwhile, Juhu Beach features Turtles trapped in nets among debris, spotlighting marine life's challenges due to litter.

The aim of these installations is to encourage reflection on the ecological footprint of contemporary lifestyles. "The sculptures are meant to provoke thought about how modern life and consumption patterns are taking a toll on the planet," said a Vantara spokesperson. This initiative aligns with Vantara's broader mission of wildlife conservation and ecosystem restoration.

Vantara's commitment extends beyond art; they manage a 3,500-acre sanctuary in Gujarat for wildlife rescue and reforestation. This effort has safeguarded over 1 million animals and resulted in planting 100 million trees. Their vision is to harmonize human development with nature conservation for mutual prosperity.

The unveiling of these sculptures coincides with World Animal Day, urging Mumbai residents to consider their environmental impact. Vantara's campaign calls for sustainable lifestyle changes, highlighting that small daily adjustments can greatly benefit our planet. "By acknowledging the impact of our actions, we can collectively work toward a world where wildlife and people coexist in harmony," stated the spokesperson for Vantara.
