After films such as 'Laila Majnu', 'Rockstar', 'Dangal', and 'Jab We Met' received overwhelming responses at the box office, Tumbbad is poised to follow suit. According to a Pinkvilla report, the Sohum Shah starrer will re-release in cinemas on 29th August 2024.

Tumbbad's Cinematic Comeback: Where to Watch

Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, Tumbbad first hit theatres on 12th October 2018 and became an unexpected box office success. Co-written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, Barve, and Anand Gandhi, the film features Sohum Shah as Vinayak Rao alongside Jyoti Malshe and Dhundiraj Prabhakar Jogaleka.

The narrative centres around Vinayak's quest for a hidden treasure from the 20th century in Tumbbad village, Maharashtra.

The 2018 cult fantasy horror-drama Tumbbad premiered on Prime Video. It was available on this platform until recently when Amazon Prime Video removed it in India. However, it remains accessible on Prime Video's UK region. The film's prologue can now be viewed on JioCinema.

Sohum Shah headlined Tumbbad made history by being the first Indian film ever premiered in the Critics' Week section of the prestigious 75th Venice International Film Festival. With a budget of Rs 5 crore, it became a cult classic and grossed around Rs 13.57 crore at the box office.
