Tumbbad Earns Over Double Of The Buckingham Murders' Box Office Day 4 Revenue
Tumbbad vs The Buckingham Murders Box Office Day 4: Sohum Shah is currently elated, and for good reason. His much-discussed film Tumbbad has been making waves at the box office. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, Tumbbad has returned to theatres after its initial release in 2018. It is now competing with Kareena Kapoor Khan's The Buckingham Murders. Both films have captivated audiences with their unique plots, sparking curiosity about which one is leading in box office earnings.
For those unfamiliar, Tumbbad is a folk horror drama centred on a Konkanastha Brahmin family in the village of Tumbbad. They seek ancestral wealth connected to Hastar, a demon god. In contrast, The Buckingham Murders follows a British-Indian detective investigating the murder of a 10-year-old child in Buckinghamshire. This clash of genres has made for an intriguing competition.

According to Sacnilk, The Buckingham Murders began its box office journey with Rs 1.15 crores and saw a reasonable increase over the opening weekend, ending with Rs 5.25 crores. Meanwhile, Tumbbad opened with Rs 1.5 crores and experienced a significant rise in collections, achieving Rs 6.75 crores over the same period.
On the first Monday, Tumbbad continued to lead over The Buckingham Murders. Hansal Mehta's directorial struggled to reach Rs 1 crore on day four, earning Rs 75 lakhs and bringing its total to Rs 6 crores. In contrast, Sohum Shah's film earned Rs 1.6 crores that day, raising its overall collection to Rs 8.35 crores. Clearly, Tumbbad has doubled the earnings of The Buckingham Murders.
Given the overwhelming response to Tumbbad, Sohum Shah has announced Tumbbad 2 with an intriguing teaser featuring characters Vinayak and his son Pandurang. A voiceover from Sohum Shah states, "Samay ka pahiya gol hai, jo beet gaya woh fir laut ke aayega...darwaaza bhi ek baar phir khulega."
