Tumbbad Box Office Day 4: Sohum Shah's Film Dips Yet Eyes ₹10Cr Milestone
Tumbbad Box Office Collection Day 4 Prediction: Sohum Shah's film Tumbbad is making waves again. Originally released in 2018, the folk horror drama hit theatres once more on September 13. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and featuring Rudra Soni, Harsh K, and Anita Date-Kelkar, Tumbbad has captivated audiences anew. The screenplay was crafted by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, Rahi Anil Barve, and Anand Gandhi.
The story of Tumbbad centres on a Konkanastha Brahmin family from the village of Tumbbad. They are in pursuit of an ancestral treasure cursed by the gods. The villagers built a temple for Hastar, the demon god, angering the gods who then cursed Tumbbad with endless rain. Upon its re-release, Tumbbad received glowing reviews and broke its own records. In 2018, it earned Rs 65 lakhs on its first day; in 2023, it doubled that amount to Rs 1.65 crores on opening day.

During its re-release weekend, Tumbbad saw significant growth in box office collections. On its second day (first Saturday), the film collected Rs 2.60 crores. By the third day (first Sunday), earnings surged by over 60%, reaching Rs 3.25 crores and bringing the total to Rs 7.50 crores.
Today (day 4/first Monday), Tumbbad is expected to experience a substantial drop in collections. Projections suggest it will earn between Rs 1-2 crores today, pushing its total past the Rs 8 crore mark. Notably, Tumbbad is competing with Kareena Kapoor Khan's The Buckingham Murders and Hansal Mehta's crime thriller at the box office.
In light of Tumbbad's remarkable reception, Sohum Shah has announced a sequel with an intriguing teaser featuring characters Vinayak and his son Pandurang. The teaser includes a voiceover from Sohum Shah: "Samay ka pahiya gol hai, jo beet gaya woh fir laut ke aayega...darwaaza bhi ek baar phir khulega."
