The Commando actress revealed that there were concerns about The Kerala Story potentially getting banned. "Our team expected that the film might get banned. West Bengal government had banned it," she said. Despite these fears and threats from some quarters to burn down theaters showing the film, the audience's love and support ensured its successful screening across cinemas.

Discussing the emotional toll of her role in The Kerala Story, Sharma shared how she remained detached from public events for six months to fully immerse herself in her character. "I lived the character...For six months, I didn't talk to anyone. I didn't go to any public events," she stated.
