Adah Sharma's The Kerala Story Set for OTT Release on Zee5 This February

Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Sudipto Sen's film, The Kerala Story, has garnered significant attention since its release in 2023. Featuring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani, the movie delves into the harrowing narrative of several Kerala women forced into conversion to Islam and subsequent recruitment into the Islamic State. This controversial subject matter has ignited widespread discussions and even led to protests in regions such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal following its theatrical debut.

After nearly a year since it first hit cinemas, The Kerala Story is poised for its OTT platform debut. Scheduled for release on Zee5 on February 15, the film will be available from midnight onwards. This move to digital streaming has been the subject of much anticipation among audiences eager to view the film from their homes.

The Kerala Story's OTT Debut Insights

Adah Sharma shared insights into her role in the film, portraying Shalini Unnikrishnan aka Fatima Ba, a character based on true events. Sharma highlighted the emotional depth of her role, drawing from real-life stories of bravery amidst adversity. Notably, she mentioned the impactful testimonial featured at the film's conclusion, which recounts a mother's grief over her daughter's tragic fate.

The Kerala Story has achieved notable success at the box office, amassing a lifetime collection of Rs 241.74 crores. This figure includes Rs 239.05 crores from its Hindi version and an additional Rs 2.69 crores from its Telugu release. The film's financial performance underscores its impact and the audience's engagement with its compelling storyline.
