The Goat Life Receives Nomination For Outstanding Sound Editing At MPSE Golden Reel Awards
Indian cinema has achieved a notable milestone with "The Goat Life" being nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing - Feature International at the 72nd Annual Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) Golden Reel Awards. This recognition places "The Goat Life" as the only Indian film in this category, showcasing the exceptional skills of India's sound design community on an international platform.
The film is a compelling drama adapted from Benyamin's 2008 novel "Aadujeevitham." Directed by Blessy, it features Prithviraj Sukumaran as Najeeb Muhammad, a man from Kerala who travels to Saudi Arabia in 1991 seeking better opportunities. Instead of finding promised work, he is deceived and forced into harsh conditions on a goat farm. Najeeb's journey of survival and hope is central to the story.

The nomination highlights the meticulous work of "The Goat Life"'s sound team. Led by Supervising Sound Editors Resul Pookutty, CAS, MPSE and Vijaykumar Mahadevia MPSE, along with Sound Effects Editor Arun Rana and Foley Editor Vijaykumar Mahadevia MPSE, Dialogue Editor Moushumi Ghosh, they crafted an immersive auditory experience that enhances the film's narrative. Foley Artists Andriy Ryzhov and others contributed to creating realistic soundscapes that vividly depict the desert environment and Najeeb's struggles.
