Millie Bobby Brown in The Electric State Adventure

The Electric State will be available exclusively on Netflix starting March 14, 2025. This global release allows audiences worldwide to experience the film simultaneously.

In this retro-futuristic adventure, Millie Bobby Brown plays Michelle, an orphaned teenager navigating life in a society where sentient robots once lived peacefully among humans but now exist in exile after a failed uprising. Her world changes when she encounters Cosmo, a mysterious robot linked to her supposedly deceased brother Christopher. Determined to find him, Michelle embarks on a journey across the American southwest with Cosmo.

Alongside Michelle is Keats, portrayed by Chris Pratt. He is a smuggler accompanied by his witty robot sidekick Herman, voiced by Anthony Mackie. Their journey takes them into the Exclusion Zone—a secluded desert area where robots reside independently. Here, they meet new animatronic allies and uncover sinister forces behind Christopher's disappearance.

The Electric State is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and features an ensemble cast including Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan and nominees Stanley Tucci and Woody Norman. Other notable actors lending their voices to the robots include Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Alan Tudyk, and Woody Harrelson. The screenplay was crafted by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely based on Stålenhag's graphic novel.

This film combines adventure with emotional depth as it delves into themes of survival and connection in a fractured world. With its engaging storyline and talented cast, The Electric State aims to captivate audiences with its portrayal of an alternate reality where humans and robots must navigate complex relationships.
