The Buckingham Murders Box Office Collection Day 5: Insights From Hansal Mehta On Earnings And Budget
Ekta Kapoor, co-producer of The Buckingham Murders, addressed the film's commercial status at its trailer launch. She stated, "Who said this isn't a commercial film? The Buckingham Murders has covered its full cost, including P&A." Ekta confirmed the movie's profitability both theatrically and at the box office. This marks her fourth collaboration with Kareena Kapoor after The Crew, Veere Di Wedding, and Udta Punjab.
Director Hansal Mehta shared his views on the importance of box office numbers for The Buckingham Murders. He expressed to TOI that what truly matters is the return on investment. Hansal questioned whether the film had recovered its costs and made a profit. He added that any earnings beyond that are considered a bonus.

As per early reports from Sacnilk, The Buckingham Murders earned 0.75 Crores on Day 5. This brought the total collection to Rs. 6.80 Crores.
Hansal Mehta also discussed comparisons between Tumbbad's re-release and The Buckingham Murders. He mentioned his desire for re-releases but highlighted their high costs. Hansal noted that significant funds were spent on Tumbbad's re-release, with more hoardings than for The Buckingham Murders.
The production budget for The Buckingham Murders was Rs. 40 Crore. So far, it has achieved an India Net Collection of Rs. 6.80 Crore.
Hansal praised Sohum Shah for investing heavily in Tumbbad's marketing efforts, saying, "The amount of marketing budget that they seem to have put in is phenomenal." He acknowledged Sohum's commitment by stating, "Hats off to Sohum (Shah), for putting his money where his heart is."
Hansal Mehta admitted he lacks the financial resources for such extensive marketing campaigns. He candidly shared his reliance on personal earnings to sustain himself.
