Jeffrey Dean Morgan Claims Karl Urban Elevates The Boys In Season 4

The Boys Season 4 Update: Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan shares his enthusiasm for The Boys, calling it the ultimate superhero show. "They turn it on its ass," he says, praising the show's unique take on the genre. Known for his roles in Supernatural and The Walking Dead, Morgan has been vocal about his admiration for the anti-heroes created by his friend, Eric Kripke.

Morgan's support for The Boys led to a humorous public exchange with Kripke on Twitter. "I'll make you a deal," Kripke responded, setting the stage for Morgan's involvement in the series. "When I first saw it, I just knew immediately, 'I gotta be on the show,'" Morgan recalls. He publicly endorsed the show in January 2020, telling his 1 million Twitter followers to watch it.

With Season 2 already in development, Kripke made Morgan a public offer to join Season 3. "I'll write it, and if you're available, come shoot it," Kripke tweeted. Morgan finds this interaction amusing. "It's not like we don't have each other's phone numbers or emails," he says. "How we would communicate over Twitter in front of whoever is paying attention, it does make me laugh. And we still do that!"

Morgan is excited about his role and sharing screen space with Karl Urban. "I knew who my scenes would be with, whom I love," he says. "Karl is a better looking, better acting version of me, but we're the same person. To work with that is so much fun."

The Boys is based on the New York Times best-selling comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who also serve as executive producers. Developed by executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke, the series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.

The highly anticipated new season is set to premiere on June 13 and will be available in English, along with dubs in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, exclusively on Prime Video.
