Subhash Ghai Reveals Exciting Aitraaz 2 Casting Plans And Bollywood Comeback At IFFI 2024
Subhash Ghai is a name synonymous with Bollywood classics like Taal, Pardes, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, and Kalicharan. Although I wasn't around when some of these timeless films hit theatres, I fondly recall dancing to their songs and watching them on TV. His movies are known for their memorable characters, grand scenes, and captivating music.
At the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa, Ghai spoke exclusively with Filmibeat about his films and future projects. He discussed his plans for Aitraaz 2 and hinted at a return to directing full-fledged Bollywood entertainers.

Ghai's short film Gandhi, featuring Manoj Bajpayee, was well-received after its world premiere at IFFI 2024. When asked about directing a full-length film again, he shared exciting news. His last directorial venture was Kanchi with Kartik Aaryan and Mishti.
"I have plans to direct a Bollywood masala entertainer, which will have all the ingredients. I will announce the project at the right time. I am making a comeback with something exciting," Ghai quipped.
The announcement of Aitraaz 2 by Subhash Ghai created quite a buzz online. The original film featured Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles and was both a box office success and critically acclaimed.
Ghai shared an update on Aitraaz 2's casting: "We have an exciting idea for the film, which I believe will resonate well with the audience. There will be a new pair of lead actors, who can do justice to the film. The OGs- Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar won't be a part of the project. We are considering actors from the current generation, who take the script to the next level with their performance. Expect the unexpected in Aitraaz 2."
