Stree 2 Sets New Record With Highest Second Sunday Box Office Collection

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 11: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, continues to dominate the box office in its second week. The horror comedy, featuring Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana, has been highly anticipated this year. As a sequel to the 2018 release Stree, it received rave reviews from both audiences and critics upon its release.

Stree 2 had an outstanding opening day at the box office, earning Rs 60.3 crores (including paid previews). The film continued to break records during its opening weekend, impressing everyone with its performance. Although there was a steady decline in numbers throughout the first week, Stree 2 maintained a strong presence at the box office and continued to achieve new milestones daily.

Interestingly, Stree 2 surpassed Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 to achieve the highest second Sunday collection ever. Gadar 2 had earned Rs 38.9 crores on its second Sunday, followed by Baahubali 2 with Rs 34.5 crores and Jawan with Rs 34.26 crores. Additionally, Stree recorded the highest day-11 collection at the box office, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan which had earned Rs 34.26 crores.

Is Stree 3 On Cards?

Abhishek Banerjee hinted at a third installment of the Stree series in an interview with Indian Express. He said, "It will take time. Now that Stree 2 has become such a big hit, I know that it won't take six years to make it like we did with Stree 2. That's for sure. Some parts of the script are already written. It is going to be a big epic saga and as an actor I am dying to be back on that set."

The second weekend brought renewed momentum for Stree 2. According to Sacnilk, the film saw an impressive jump of 88% on day ten (second Saturday), earning Rs 33 crores at the box office. The collections further increased on day eleven (second Sunday), raking in Rs 44 crores and bringing the total earnings to Rs 386.15 crores.

The film's success has been remarkable since its release, capturing audience interest and maintaining strong box office performance despite initial declines during weekdays.

The anticipation for future installments remains high among fans and industry insiders alike.
