Stree 2 Sets New Box Office Record, Surpasses Jawan's Fifth Monday Earnings

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 33: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's film, Stree 2, has emerged as one of the year's major hits. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this horror comedy is a sequel to the 2018 release Stree. The movie also features Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee in significant roles, with cameo appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia, Varun Dhawan, and Akshay Kumar. It has received rave reviews from audiences both in India and globally.

Stree 2 revolves around the sarkata bhoot haunting Chanderi and has been a box office sensation since its release. The film recorded the highest opening of 2024 with Rs 60.3 crores. It has consistently performed well at the box office, breaking records along the way. Notably, Stree 2 became the first film of 2024 to enter the prestigious Rs 500 crores club in India. Despite being in its fifth week, the Amar Kaushik directorial shows no signs of slowing down.

During its fourth week, Stree 2 faced some struggles but saw a resurgence over the fifth weekend, surpassing Pathaan's lifetime collection. According to Sacnilk's report, Stree 2 earned Rs 5.4 crores on day 31 (fifth Saturday) and Rs 6.75 crores on day 32 (fifth Sunday). On day 33 (fifth Monday), despite a slight dip in numbers, it still managed to collect Rs 3 crores. This brought its total earnings to Rs 557.85 crores.

Stree 2 has been competing fiercely with other iconic hits like Jaan, Pathaan, and Gadar 2. Remarkably, on the fifth Monday, it outperformed Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan by earning more than three times its collection. For context, Jawan had collected Rs 85 lakhs on its fifth Monday. Additionally, Stree 2 set a record for the highest day-33 collection ever.

Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao is preparing for his fourth film release this year. He will star opposite Triptii Dimri in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and scheduled for release on October 11. This upcoming film is expected to be a comedy-drama.

The success of Stree 2 highlights its strong appeal among audiences and solidifies its position as a major box office hit of the year.
