Stree 2 Box Office Triumph: Surpasses 492Cr, Overtakes Animal On Day 20

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 20: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 has become one of the year's biggest hits. This sequel to the 2018 film Stree marks their second collaboration. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana. It opened to rave reviews from audiences.

Despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham and Sharvari's Vedaa, Stree 2 has been breaking records since its release. The film recorded the highest opening of 2024 with Rs 60.3 crores on its first day. It maintained strong box office numbers through its first two weeks despite some dips.

Although there was a significant drop in collections during the third week, Stree 2 continued to perform steadily at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film saw a 69% dip on its third Monday (day 19), earning Rs 6.75 crores. On day 20 (third Tuesday), it earned Rs 6.05 crores, bringing its total collection to Rs 492.85 crores.

Interestingly, Stree 2 has entered the top five highest day-20 collections of all time, securing fourth place after surpassing Ranbir Kapoor's Animal, which earned Rs 4.7 crores on its twentieth day. KGF 2 leads this list with Rs 9.57 crores, followed by Gadar 2 with Rs 8.6 crores and Baahubali 2 with Rs 6.25 crores.

The success of Stree 2 has sparked rumours about a third installment in the franchise. Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Janaa in the series, mentioned to the Indian Express that while Stree 3 will take some time, parts of the script are already written. He added that it will be "a big epic saga".

The movie's ability to hold its ground despite new releases is noteworthy. Its consistent performance highlights its popularity among viewers and solidifies its status as a major hit this year.
